Meet Dr. Jenna Swanson

Dr. Jenna Swanson has been practicing physical therapy for over 15 years in North Carolina.  She became interested specifically in pediatric physical therapy after observing pediatric PT treatments at Shriners Hospital in Philadelphia, PA and Greenville, SC.  Throughout her DPT program at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, she pursued a pediatric tract and rotation to continue developing her understanding of the pediatric client.  Upon graduation from PT school, Jenna moved with her husband to the Raleigh area and began practicing in a general orthopedic clinic for her first year.  She then transitioned fully into pediatrics and has been practicing solely in pediatrics since then.

Jenna has experience in the neonatal intensive care unit, early intervention, pediatric home health, and outpatient pediatrics.  She has worked with children who have a wide variety of neurologic, orthopedic, and genetic diagnoses and other conditions including torticollis, plagiocephaly, hypotonia, gait disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and gross motor delays.  Jenna loves the creativity included in being a pediatric PT and is able to quickly adapt her treatment programs to meet each child in the moment and motivate them to complete purposeful, functional, and fun activities.  Outside of work, Jenna enjoys spending time with her husband and children, being active through sports and outdoor activities, spending time at the beach, and reading.  Jenna counts it a privilege to be a part of each child and family's journey as they strive to learn and grow and conquer whatever goals they imagine.

Meet Dr. Amy Schott

Amy graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts with highest honors in Exercise and Sport Science in 2012 followed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2015. Amy completed an orthopedic residency and then practiced in an outpatient clinic in Cary, NC primarily working with patients aged 8-99 years old for 6 years. She then transitioned back to the pediatric setting, where she felt her passion lied. She worked in the outpatient pediatric setting in Fuquay Varina, NC for one year and then transitioned home visits for children in the 0-3 year old population through NC’s Early Intervention program after her first child was born. Amy joined Bright Hope Pediatric Therapy in the fall of 2024 after her second daughter was born. Amy has expertise in the vestibular system, concussions, orthopedic conditions, pain management, trigger point dry needling, yoga, management of torticollis, gross motor delays, working with children and adults with visual impairments, genetic and neurological diagnoses. Amy has worked with area vendors on ordering adaptive equipment and custom orthoses for children as well. She is also an APTA certified clinical instructor. Amy likes to incorporate mindfulness and wellness into her therapy programs as she incorporates a holistic approach to treatment and is excited to do this within the natural learning environment that home visits provide. Amy enjoys playing with her two daughters, traveling, reading, cooking, hiking and going to concerts with her husband in her free time

What Our Clients Are Saying

Jenna was always cheerful, dedicated and professional. She kept me informed and addressed all of my concerns. I enjoyed watching and learning from the creative, engaging and fun activities and environments used that incorporated movements to build up strength and muscle memory and get “P” confidently walking. I appreciated the way Jenna kept things positive and didn’t push “P” too hard when she resisted but met her at her ability and willingness. So happy with all of the skills we learned during our physical therapy journey!

Jenna started treating my son at our home when he was only a couple months old.  He had low tone, plagiocephaly, and a gross motor delay.  She was amazing with my baby and with me.  Her treatment strategies were innovative and effective.  She treated him until he finally started walking.  She helped us with getting him SMOs and gave us an immense amount of education that equipped us as parents to work with him at home.  Our experience with Jenna as our son's physical therapist was a joy, and I can't recommend her enough."

I can’t emphasize enough how much we enjoy working with Amy. She has been a blessing to our family and has helped B (and us) tremendously!
